Your Data, Your Call
Delete Your Account or Data
Applies to TrueSummit on iOS and Android
You can delete your entire TrueSummit account, or remove individual pieces of your data while keeping your account. Both options are below, and neither requires you to contact us first.
Delete your account
This permanently deletes your account and the data stored with it: transactions, accounts, budgets, goals, scheduled items, and bank connections. It cannot be undone.
Signed in with Apple or Google? This form needs an email password. Either delete your account in the app under Settings → Sync & Account → Delete Account, or set a password first using the app’s “Forgot Password?” link and then return here.
Linked banks: deleting in the app disconnects your banks at Plaid right away. If you delete here, they are disconnected within a day. To disconnect them immediately, unlink them in the app first (Net Worth → Connections).
What deleting your account removes
Your account, your profile, and the financial data held for you are permanently deleted from our live database right away. Copies in our encrypted backups are deleted automatically within 30 days. We may keep limited records where the law requires it.
If you own a household that you share with others, deleting your account deletes that household and all of its data for everyone in it, because the owner controls the shared data. If you only joined someone else’s household, your account, your profile, and your access to it are removed, and the shared budget stays with its owner.
Data cached on a device you have the app installed on is cleared when you delete your account from within the app. If you delete from this page, sign out on that device to clear its local copy.
Deleting data without deleting your account
You do not have to delete your whole account to remove data from TrueSummit:
- Delete individual records. Any transaction, account, category, budget goal, or category rule can be deleted in the app, and the deletion applies to your synced copy as well as the one on your device.
- Disconnect a bank. Open Net Worth → Connections and unlink an institution. This ends the connection and stops any further data being retrieved from it.
- Clear one device. On Android, Settings → Privacy & Data → Erase Local Data removes everything held on that device, leaving your account and cloud data intact. On iPhone, signing out clears the device’s copy.
- Erase your cloud data. On iPhone, Settings → Privacy & Data → Erase My Cloud Data deletes your synced data from our servers and keeps your account.
- Stop syncing entirely. Settings → Privacy & Data → “Keep data on this device only” (Local-Only Mode on Android) keeps all future data on your device. Data already synced stays in the cloud until you erase it.
If you would rather we deleted specific data for you, email info@truesummitapp.com from the address on your account and tell us what to remove. We will confirm when it is done.
